Water Quality and Treatment

There are so many benefits of water treatment to achieve softer water—from better taste to shinier fixtures to the need for less detergent in laundry and dishwashers. Hard water can be hard on your plumbing as well as your skin and hair. It can even increase your utility costs by causing buildup in your water heater. We can help you figure out exactly what water treatment will be most beneficial for you based on your water’s mineral composition.

We are also experts at installing water filtration systems to remove chemicals and impurities. You can approach this two ways: at the point of use or at the point of entry where water comes into your home. Whole-house systems are considered superior because they improve water quality at all faucets, showerheads, and appliances. It also has the advantage of combining more than one water purification method:

Activated carbon, which uses absorption and catalytic reduction to remove unwanted particles from water. It does not remove all impurities, but it does improve water quality and taste.
Ultraviolet light, which eliminates biological contaminants but not impurities such as heavy metals or chemicals.
Reverse osmosis, which uses a semi-permeable membrane that only allows water to flow through. This is most effective but also produces the most waste; the majority of water traveling through the system is discarded as waste water.

Our expertise at clearing clogged drains includes toilets, so we can come out right away if your first attempts to clear the clog don’t work. (And remember to always use a flange plunger rather than a cup plunger, and never use chemicals.)
